US Futures are slightly higher as jobless claims fall. First time claims for unemployment insurance fell to 222k last week, lower than expectations of 225k. In other news, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross told CNBC this morning that the U.S. has officially struck a deal to end sanctions against Chinese telecom giant ZTE. The deal negations on ZTE have been viewed as a bargaining chip in the greater trade discussion. European shares are higher despite discussions of how and when to end QE in the euro area. German industrial production fell 2.5% in April, more than expected. Asian shares closed mostly higher with Japanâ€™s Nikkei leading the gains.
